This screening brings together three works that each, in their own way, examine how landscapes—urban, ecological, and emotional—are shaped by power, memory, and loss. Together, they offer a nuanced reflection on the politics of transformation—revealing the ways disasters leave lasting imprints on cities and communities, exposing the entanglement of human and more-than-human lives within urban systems of control, and uncovering how environmental imaginaries and visual memories continue to shape our sense of the now. The program invites viewers to consider the complex relations between bodies and territories, regulation and resistance, memory and imagination. Rather than offering fixed narratives, these works gesture toward the shifting and often contested processes through which places and beings are made—and unmade.
The program consists of screening three signature works by the Czech artist David Přílučík and an accompanying artist talk.

●Artist info
David Přilučík’s artistic practice explores the post-natural condition, questioning modern notions of rationality and imagination. Working with video, installation, and performative formats, he weaves together human and more-than-human perspectives. His long-term project Divoká Šárka focuses on nature reserves and the Rights of Nature, while BRUCHOVRAVY, co-initiated with Dávid Koronczi, connects food, memory, and agroecology.
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Dutch Art Institute, Přilučík has collaborated with Artyčok TV and TLTRPreß in Berlin. He has exhibited at Fotograf Festival, the National Gallery Prague, MeetFactory, House of Arts Brno, and internationally at venues such as Nida Art Colony, CENTRALE FIES, and MuseumsQuartier Vienna. His video Blind Bidding won the main prize in the Other Visions section at PAF 2017, and in 2022 he became a co-recipient of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award.

1. Soft Drinks and Rivers
26 min 21 sec|2021
This project explores the long-term socio-political effects of floods, focusing on how moments of crisis can be used to reshape cities and redistribute their populations. Using the 2002 floods in Prague’s Karlín district as a case study—particularly their impact on the local Roma community—it combines archival research with personal testimonies to reveal how the aftermath of disaster lingers in urban space and bodily memory. Rather than viewing floods as isolated catastrophes, the work traces their ongoing influence on everyday life.
2. Is it the flight or the fall my friend is falling for?
12 min 08 sec|2023
Is it the flight or the fall my friend is falling for? is a collaborative video work created together with pigeon activist Fuki. The piece explores the biopolitics of the city and its entanglement with urban wildlife, delving into themes of environmental regulation, transgressions, and interspecies solidarity.
3. RELIEF
8 min 16 sec|2024
Relief explores the persistent romanticization of modern landscapes and the lingering power of images—especially those based on past data—to shape how we live and remember. Blurring the line between representation and experience, the video weaves together filtered animal sounds, human imitations of dinosaurs, and AI-generated voices to create a shifting terrain where creatures, data, and memories collide. Oscillating between celebration and mourning, the work questions what it means to recall what’s been lost.
