The Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MoCA TAIPEI) and the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan (MOCA Busan) shares a bilateral art project in 2021. Two works from MoCA TAIPEI's 20th anniversary exhibition series have participated in MOCA Busan’s exhibition Sustainable Museum: Art and Environment via live-streaming. Meanwhile, MoCA TAIPEI’s MoCA Video program presents two videos of Korean artists from Sustainable Museum.
In this project, MoCA TAIPEI presents Chien-Chih LIN& Tsai, Pou-Ching’s Latest Update: Patch 2.1a—Vitalizing Through the Vast, Desolate Ocean from the exhibition Chrono-contemporary and Yin-Chieh LIN’s With no name... from the exhibition Tomorrow, Towarding. Latest Update: Patch 2.1a—Vitalizing Through the Vast, Desolate Ocean looks into the common features of the contemporary art museums, meta-art history elements, reality and dreams of art communities and the mechanism of the art world. With no name... narrates the dysfunctional state and ubiquitous violence in political and social movements.
Sustainable Museum examines the impact of museum activities on the ecological environment and explores practical strategies to make museums more sustainable. Presented in MoCA Video are art group E Dong Shi and artist Jang Jongwan. Hyun Hee Jin, a member of E Dong Shi, presents La Résistance. Through imitating the behavior of bees building beehives and transmitting message, the work wishes to inspire solidarity against various inequalities in the world. One the other hand, Jang Jongwan's film Green Beret – Eco Friendly Art Expedition, documents his journey of researching how to make art more environmentally friendly.
